It's Glowing @ your Library

On Thursday, October 18th the Children's Room began to glow shortly after children in Grades 3-5 came to the library for a phosphorescent pumpkin craft and reading.

Children enjoyed listening to the book, The Day-Glo Brothers by Chris Barton, which describes the discovery of fluorescent paint by Bob and Joe Switzer.  The brothers experimented for years before finding the formula that would create colors which would glow in sunlight, a feature which led to the paint being used for safety items around the world.

The children were thrilled when the book's day-glo illustrations came alive under black lighting.  It is a perfect seasonal read. Check it out today!
