LEGOS AT THE LIBRARY

The Lego Masters Club was a huge hit for boys and girls in grades 3 and up.  In fact, we practically had to kick them out each week when the session ended!  Why Legos in the library? Children came for 4 weeks of building and mechanical fun, and worked on their scientific and mathematical reasoning skills in the process.  Also, promoting creative play contributes to literacy development by increasing attention span, memory, and language and vocabulary skills. Play can be educational!

Everyone shared their creativity at the showcase pictured below.  For the finale, the children collaborated on  a demolition derby  to end this session of  Lego Masters. Join us over the summer to create robots and rockets, as part our Summer Reading Club theme, FIZZ BOOM READ!
